10 Danger Signs in Your Marriage

Your marriage is a time bomb. It is ticking away. Identify the following explosive signs and defuse them as soon as possible:

  1. Rumors: There is no doubt that you trust each other, but in a marriage it is necessary to clarify the situation as soon as possible whenever a rumor surfaces. When you think it is a small matter and let it simmer, you allow the time bomb to activate.

  1. A boring life: It is essential to bring excitement into the marriage. Once in a while have fun together to get away from the daily monotonous life. Living every day the same way will allow attraction beyond your marriage to interfere with your peaceful life. Have enjoyment and laughter every now and then to brighten your marriage.

  1. Serious illnesses: Look after your health well. You cannot guarantee your partner to stay with you and look after you when you are seriously ill for a prolonged period.

  1. Poverty: How long do you think your partner can withstand and endure the suffering with you when you cannot lead a normal life because of financial difficulties? Very soon your spouse will file for a divorce.

  1. Your physical appearance: Do you look after yourself to stay attractive or you allow your body to develop in the wrong place after marriage? Get your partner interested in you and not a third party.

  1. Children: Children may not be a problem in a normal marriage. However, when a marriage does not work out the custody of the children is a major issue and a bitter tussle.

  1. Work: Your job can interfere with your marriage, especially when you are a workaholic. You take your partner for granted and ignore her.

H1N1, Obesity and Weight Management

Weight Management

According to the latest report in the newspaper, the death toll from influenza A H1N1 is 67 as at August 18, 2009. The Health Ministry of Malaysia is concerned that the obese may be in the high risk category.

In a 2006 national survey showed that 43 percent of Malaysians were overweight or obese – excess body weight in the form of fat – with the number growing rapidly because of the increasingly sedentary lifestyle.

“The obese may find themselves in the high-risk group for all viruses, including H1N1. Obesity is also the road to diseases like diabetes, heart disease and other chronic illnesses which reduces immunity,” Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said when opening the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity Scientific Conference on August 13, 2009. MASO advocates a healthy lifestyle as part of a comprehensive approach in weight management program.

Weight management

There are two approaches to control your weight. One is to exercise and the other is to eat the right way.

Exercise: While aerobic exercise such as jogging, walking or swimming can boost your metabolism and weight loss, you need to do resistance training in the gym or at home to increase muscle strength and density, which in turn allows you to burn more calories faster. To see results you need to do at least three to four sessions a week.

Eating: Eating less but more frequently at a fixed time for each meal is the right way to have your meals. When you are eating at a regular interval you are training your body to expect food and burn calories every three to four hours. You boost your metabolism this way and you don’t gain weight. When you are eating irregularly or eat at a longer interval, you body does not know when to expect food and your metabolism drops to conserve energy. Your body responds to what it think is a period of malnutrition. Now you know why some people keep eating all day long but never gain weight.

Change your sedentary lifestyle and change your health for the better. Change your eating habits and change yourself to a slimmer body.

Hopefulness –The Most Powerful Positive Emotion

When you think life is hopeless, then there is nothing to look forward to in life. There is no incentive to carry on living. There is no energy and no interest in your daily life. According to Martin Luther King, Jr.,” If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream.”

On the other hand when you are hopeful, you have high expectation in life. Every day your life is filled with zest. You look forward to each new day with tremendous energy. Hopefulness means life is meaningful and worthwhile.

Hopefulness is one of these things in life and more:

  • To be graduated with flying colors
  • A rewarding career upon graduation
  • A happy marriage
  • A happy and healthy child
  • A child grows up to be successful in life
  • A carefree retirement

What are the things that spur you to look forward to each new day with high hope?

As for me I look forward to each new day with great excitement. The thing that sparks me is blogging. I look forward to have more readers reading my articles and receive more earnings from AdSense and these can only be achieved by writing more articles that the readers are interested to read.

I know every one of us has something to look forward to in life because of our hope. Hope is the only thing that keeps us going on in life. Dale Carnegie says,’ Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”

Do not give up hope. Let hopefulness fills your life.

About Copygator

This is a very useful and cool site. It notifies you when your content is duplicated. The Copygator service aggregates data from over two million blog feeds, and parses over a half million new blog posts a day. Their servers then crunch all of this date and evaluate every post against each other to determine if any two are roughly, nearly, or exactly alike. They are able to show you exactly where your content is being duplicated, quoted or plagiarized. Best of all, this is done automatically and free of charge.

How does it work?

In order to make it work for your blog, there are two options. One of them is to provide a valid RSS FEED and Copygator will do the rest. The other option is more interesting. You simply copy and paste a badge onto your blog and Copygator will find feeds on your side and watch your content automatically. Just watch for the badge to change to red if it detects your content has been duplicated elsewhere in the blogosphere.

How do they notify you when they find duplicated content?

They will notify you by e-mail, RSS or you can just watch the badge at your site to change to red. You can also use the “Who’s using your feed content” search bar at the top of their website.

Install the badge on your site and watch it change to red to identify the copycat.

6. Personal development: Personal development involves working on yourself, on the key mental skills that you must contribute to the performance equation. The more you improve yourself, the more you’ll like, respect, and believe in yourself.

7. Health: You must work hard at maintaining a high level of health and accept responsibility for all of your actions that are health-related. There is no cure for a lifetime of bad health habits.

8. Creativity: Your subconscious is a vast storehouse. It contains the wisdom of the past, the understanding of the present, and the vision of the vision. By tapping into its vast reserves, you can create new thoughts about anything you choose to think about.

9. Service: When you get right down to the root meaning of success, you will find that it simply means to provide service. And the more service you provide, the more success you will have. “To do more for the world than the world does for you, that is success,” according to Henry Ford.

10. Excellence: Only when you attain excellence in your chosen field can you hope to become truly successful in life. Anything less and you cannot hope to reach your full potential. Be the best that you can be.

11. Superior human relations: There are three principal ways to develop key interpersonal skills that lead to superior human relations. The first involves adding value to other people through recognition, the second is seeing things from another’s point of view; and the third is effective listening skills. Successful human relations is really the art of making other people feel good about themselves.

12. Leadership: “To be a leader, an executive must first develop himself and then help develop those for whom he is responsible,” says Koestenbaum.

“It remains for you to DREAM what you dare to dream, DO what you dare to do, and BE what you dare to be!’ His book concludes with this powerful line.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

Deepak Chopra

According to The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, ‘spirit’ means part of a person that includes their mind, feelings and character rather than their body. How do you achieve spiritual success?

Deepak Chopra mentions the following seven laws in his famous book, the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success:

  1. The law of pure potentiality: One way to enjoy the benefits of pure potentiality is through the daily practice of silence, meditation and non-judgment. A forth component is to spend time in nature. It enables you to sense the harmonious interaction of all the elements and forces of life, and gives you a sense of unity with all of life.

  1. The law of giving: It is stated that as long as you‘re giving, you will be receiving. The more you give, the more confidence you will gain in the miraculous effects of this law. And as you receive more, your ability to give more will also increase

  1. The law of ‘karma’ or cause and effect: Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind… what we sow are what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

  1. The law of least effort: Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease…with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease. When you have the exquisite combination of acceptance, responsibility, and defenselessness, you will experience life flowing with effortless ease. Least effort is expended when your actions are motivated by love.

  1. The law of intention and desire: Intention lays the groundwork for the effortless, spontaneous, frictionless flow of pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. The only caution is that you use your intent for the benefit of mankind. This happens spontaneously when you are in alignment with the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

  1. The law of detachment: Attachment comes from poverty consciousness, because attachment is always to symbols (cars, houses, bank notes, clothes, airplanes). Detachment is synonymous with wealth consciousness, because with detachment there is freedom to create. Only from detached involvement can one have joy and laughter.

  1. The law of “Dharma” or purpose in life: Everyone has a purpose in life… a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with services to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals

What I have learnt from this book:

  • Harness the power of your interest and passion for the benefits of others.(Law No.7)
  • Do not attach to material things. When you are born you don’t bring them along. And when you die you can’t take them along with you. (Law No.6)
  • Kindness begets kindness. (Law No 2)
  • Our actions, good or bad, will generate in return the same effects.(Law No. 3)
  • To live harmoniously with nature, capture the forces of the environment to your advantage. Feng Shui harnesses the positive power of the natural landscape and avoids hostile situations. (Law No. 1)
  • Tai Chi is a form of meditation in motion. When you are doing the very slow and graceful movements you are in tune with nature. You think of nothing else but just concentrate on the movements. According to Deepak Chopra, the combination of movement and stillness enables you to unleash your creativity in all directions – wherever the power of your attention takes you. No wonder I get a lot of creative ideas for my article writing when I am doing Tai Chi in the morning. (Law No. 1)
  • When your motives to do a thing are right, you don’t have to struggle to do it. You just do it effortlessly.(Law No. 4 and 5)

Skin Care Tips – Things To Do And Avoid

A healthy living lifestyle and healthy eating habit will greatly improve your complexion and you will look youthful much longer. Here are the things you should do and some of the things to avoid.

To-do list

Water: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated

Skim milk: Skim milk and non-fat yogurt are low- calorie sources of calcium. It is essential for soft, smooth skin and strong bones

Fruits: Take note of the following fruits

  • Cantaloupe: It has a rich source of potassium which helps the body’s moisture level and the nervous system. Honeydew is my favorite.
  • Watermelon: With water content of almost 92 % it hydrates your body and skin and its natural sugars are an energy booster.
  • Citrus such as oranges, which is high in vitamin C, prevents scurvy.

Essential fatty acids:”Essential fatty acids are responsible for healthy cell membranes, which is not only what act as barriers to harmful things but also as the passageway for nutrients to cross in and out and for waste products to get in and out of the cell,” says Ann Yelmokas McDermott, PhD, a nutritionist at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston. ”Because it is the cell membrane that also holds water in, the stronger that barrier is, the better your cells can hold moisture. And that means plumper, younger looking skin.” Look for salmon and walnuts to supply essential fatty acids.

Vegetable fat: About 75% of an avocado’s calories come from fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat. It is high in potassium which helps with the growth of new cells. The skin will become healthier when your body is able to produce new cells. It is also rich in B vitamins and E

Lean meats: Chicken and fish are rich in protein as well as potassium. In the labs, nutritional scientists and biochemists have proved that a diet poor in proteins hastens aging in the human body.

Whole grains and legumes: Seeds in their natural state – cereal and seed grains, nuts and legumes are also rich sources of protein

Sleep: A good night’s sleep about eight hours will rejuvenate and repair your skin. Several studies have found that sleep deprived humans have lower levels of a growth hormone the skin needs to repair environmental damage and produce new skin cells. When skin cell replacement slacks you will get wrinkles.

Exercise: One way to purify your skin is through exercise. When you exercise you sweat and toxins are discharged from your pores.

Positive emotions: Positive emotions such as happiness will radiate a glowing complexion and also strengthen your immune system

To avoid

The sun: Wear a hat and apply sunscreen if you have to spend time under the sun. Otherwise avoid the scorching sun

Alcohol: Too much drinking will displace nutrients from your body.

Smoking: Smoking dehydrates your skin and depletes your skin of essential nutrients and the skin will age faster than non-smokers.

Fried foods: The cleansing process is slowed down as it is difficult to digest unsaturated fatty acids

Negative emotions: When you are depressed, worried or angry, you frown and when it happens very often lines will appear on your forehead.

A healthy and youthful looking skin will boost your self-esteem and confidence and brings you happiness.
