Goals |
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” —Pablo Picasso
Effectiveness means doing the right thing at the right time. It also means doing more in less time without sacrificing quality. Goals can be achieved with personal effectiveness and productivity.
- Your goals: When there is no aim in life, there is no goal and so there is no direction. Your life goals should be in writing. Written goals are more likely to be achieved because you can look at the goals every day. The goals are clearly defined and provide an action plan in terms of monthly, weekly, and daily tasks
- Daily to-do list: The list is prioritized with the most important tasks on top of the list. It is best to tackle the important ones in the morning when your energy is at its peak.
- Review: At the end of each day review tasks accomplished against the to-do list of the day. Give yourself a pat when all tasks are executed accordingly. You should also review your weekly and monthly goals against actual performance. The review process is necessary to check your progress and to adjust for changes in your goals because of changing conditions.
- Continuous learning: Renew your knowledge to keep yourself updated so that you can stay ahead.
- Deadline: A time frame for yourself to complete tasks as stated in the to-do list is the best way to check procrastination.
- Passionate: Your goals are what you are interested to do and you can do it better than others. It means you will work with all your heart.
- Focus: Do not allow minor issues to distract you from attending to the work as spelled out in the to-do list.
- Be curious: Be alert and be interested in the things that are happening around you. Take advantage of the latest developments in technology to make your work more efficient.
- Creative: Be resourceful and innovative to do things differently in less time
- Wise use of time: Use unproductive time productively such as catching up with your reading while waiting for your appointment
- Keep fit: Physical fitness is essential for you to work with full concentration and the stamina to go for the long haul
- Be positive: Have faith in your goals. Expect to realize your dreams.
- Be courageous: Do not hesitate. Be brave to try out new things if it is beneficial.
- One task at a time: Pay undivided attention to do just one task at a time. Work can be done faster with fewer errors when you work with full concentration
- Perseverance: Success means working long-term to achieve your objectives. Maintain your stamina until you have attained your goals. Do not allow setbacks along the way to discourage you from reaching your goals in life.
Realize your ultimate goals in life with personal effectiveness and productivity.
