Treasure Life Live Positively

Treasure life

Recently, there was a 22-year young man who left a suicide note on Facebook and went about coolly and took away his own precious life. What are the problems that make people especially young ones to go to the extreme? I can think of the following major causes:

·         Rejected in love: When someone does not wish to carry on a relationship, it does not mean that you are no good.  It is only that he or she does not appreciate you and accept you as what you are. You have your strengths and weaknesses like everyone else. All you need to do is to look for someone who is able to look for the good in you and accept you totally. There is nothing wrong with you. You don’t have to take away your own life when someone finds you incompatible.

·         Unhappy at work: It is important to take responsibility into your own hand to create your own happiness. Find out what you are good at and develop further. Identify your bad habits and replace them with good ones. The most important issue is doing things that you enjoy and you are good at and interested in. Change yourself before you change your job

·         Boredom and emptiness: This is a concern for young people as they have not established their goals in life. They are just drifting along aimlessly. Be inspired and follow your dreams and conceive ideas to pursue your passion. Set goals, plan, organize and go forward boldly to reach your objectives. Be resilient in the face of setbacks and problems.

·        Gambling  debt: This is one big bad habit and drive people to take away their own lives when they are unable to manage and settle gambling debt. The only way is to avoid gambling right from the beginning. Just remember gamblers are no winners

·         Critical illnesses: It is sad to succumb to a serious illness. You may seek medical attention but you need to be strong, determined and be positive minded in order to heal successfully.  Get support from friends and relatives, read motivational quotes and articles and look at the bright side of things.

You only live once. Just do the best you can with what you have in life. Life may not be fair but it does not mean that you cannot live a happy and meaningful life. Go ahead and enjoy life and live the way you want

Be Healthy Be Alive

Be Healthy be alive

Health is more than just physical fitness; it is a healthy way of life. It can be achieved by having a balanced diet, positive mentality and enjoying emotional and spiritual well-being apart from being physically active.

Balanced diet:

•       Avoid acidic food: When your diet consists mainly of meat, eggs, dairy and other highly acidic foods you are likely to be attracted to cancer. Instead consumed more alkaline foods such as fresh vegetables and fruits.
·         Drink water: Two thirds of our body weight is made up of water. In fact our brain is made up of 75% water. You need to drink enough water to be hydrated. The proper functioning of our body depends on water. You need around  1.5 - 2 litres of water every day
·           Eat breakfast: Breakfast provides the energy for you to start a new day. Eat more often at regular intervals but less to promote metabolism. Eat slowly and enjoy your food and don’t watch TV or read newspapers while eating.

Physical:

·         3 S’s of total fitness. It is about doing aerobic exercise to promote your stamina, stretching your body to gain suppleness and doing weight lifting to improve your strength.
·         Taking breaks: Even a machine cannot work non-stop, it needs to be serviced regularly to avoid breaking down. Taking  breaks is to release tension and regain your energy so that you can work better
·         Sleep: Sleep deprivation will curtail your energy and concentration. You will also not be able to perform with full attention.
·         Power naps: Taking a nap in the afternoon is beneficial to your health. A ‘power nap’ reduces  stress, improves alertness and cognitive functioning

Mental:

·         Be mindful: It means you are living in the moment, thinking of the task at hand and nothing else. You are calm and composed
·         Positive mental attitude: Looking at things on the bright and hopeful of the future affect  health positively

Spiritual:

·         Stress control: To manage your time effectively is to minimize your stress. Proper Planning and organizing are a great way to get things done smoothly with the least problems.
·         Relaxation: Listen to classical music is one effective way to unwind and relax. How do you relax?
·         Meditation: It is a wonderful way to declutter your mind, reduce stress and get peace of mind.
·         Inner peace: There are no guilt feelings and worries as long as you are morally right. The key is not to cheat or betray others of the trust in you.

Emotional

·         Promote positive emotions: Fill your heart with love, forgiveness and kindness. Be happy and be cheerful Positive emotions enhance good health and good health attracts positive emotions.

Environmental

·         Away from the traffic: Live in a place away from heavy traffic so that you can sleep well at night without being disturbed. The key is to avoid noise pollution
·         Away from polluted air: Stay away from industrial areas and garbage dumps.  Live close to nature is the best way to promote a healthy life.
·         Away from second- hand smoke: To avoid second-hand tobacco smoke is to avoid getting disease, cancer and death.

Health and fitness which money cannot buy, is the best thing you can have in life.
Be healthy and lead an active and happy life.

Meaningful Goals not Resolutions for 2011

Goals

This is the time of the year that people make resolutions to coincide with the New Year. This year do things differently and effectively. Instead of doing resolutions, go for achievable and sustainable goals. Here are the reasons why:

  • Wish list: Yearly New Year resolutions are more like a wish list. It is more or less the same items year in and year out with no success in sight. You are too ambitious and the list is too long and after the New Year your enthusiasm dies down.

  • Replacing bad habits with good ones: It is more likely than not that the resolutions are to replace bad habits with good ones like getting up early and managing weight. Doing too many things  at the same time is too much to cope and sure to fail

  • Goals: Goals are long-term objectives and not just for a year. It is written so that you can view it every now and then. Your goals are meaningful because it is crafted according to your interests and passion. It is achievable in accordance  with a time frame of your choice

  • One thing at a time: You adopt one good habit at a time. The fist small step is your giant step. As an example, you start by reading one page a day. Develop it into a good daily habit and then gradually you read more pages every day.

  • Review yearly: Instead of doing resolutions for the New Year, you review your performance at the end of each year. Are you meeting your objectives?  Do you need to modify your goals? Celebrate your achievements and work smarter to reach your objectives if you are falling short.

Establish your goals and start the New Year with a bang. Break down your goals into yearly objectives, monthly and daily tasks. Start small, go slow, do less and achieve more.  Wish you a successful New Year.
