Homework

Homework

When you design a timetable for your child, it is better to be assignment-based rather than time-based. First of all, an assignment is to be completed. The child will have a sense of accomplishment upon completion of the assignment. On the other hand, when you allocate a fixed time to do homework, he may drag on to kill time without doing anything meaningful. Furthermore, the ability to concentrate varies among different age groups. Another advantage is the flexible use of time. Make sure that the amount of assignment is tailored according to his age. When he can do it, he will be pleased to obey and he will also be happy when the work is done.

Start Early to Accumulate Wealth

Start Early to Accumulate Wealth

According to an article in a recent newspaper, it is said that starting early is more important than anything else in investing. When you teach your child to invest early he can afford the luxury of making mistakes because he has enough time left over to turn himself from a loser to a winner. Moreover, starting young can trigger a lifelong interest in investing. He will experience the ups and downs of the stock exchange. Your child will also be keen to check the stock prices and study the financial information in the newspapers or the Internet. He can start small but should select only quality stocks. It is exciting for your child to see the accumulation of wealth without doing anything.

Empathy

Empathy

Empathy is the capacity to understand and share the feelings of another.

Here are a few tips to develop empathy:

 1. First of all try to find out what's in his mind and then study his emotion and feelings.
2. In the cause of listening do not jump to the conclusion.
3. You may know what he is trying to say but you must be patient and continue to listen. From time to time you pass appropriate remarks such as "I understand" or "I know what you are saying".
4. When the other person is speaking too fast or not in proper sequence, you can repeat his words to get confirmation of your understating. This is actually to show that you are listening.

With empathy, you will communicate better and you will be appreciated by others.

Career Development

There is a saying about luck: 'Luck is what happened when opportunity meets preparation". How do you prepare yourself for career advancement? The most important thing is to find out what you really need to learn to improve yourself. You should concentrate on improving your greatest strengths further. Here are the reasons:
  1. You can become an expert in the areas of your expertise. The other advantage is that you enjoy using the skills.
  2. It is more difficult and time-consuming to improve on your weaknesses. The payoff is not as great as improving your strengths.

A Balanced Life

A Balanced Life

The waves rush to the shore and then retreats. The sun rises and then sets. The phenomena of nature are well-balanced. It would be disastrous if the sun never sets and the waves do not retreat. Likewise, our life should be balanced. The relationship among our activities should be in a state of balance too. There is a time for you to work and there is a time for you to rest. If you spend more time at work your relationship with your family members will be adversely affected. When you indulge in too many leisure activities your energy will be zapped and your work performance will be curtailed. The various activities in your life are interrelated. Happiness will be with you when your life is properly balanced.

Sharp Edges or Secret Arrows

Feng Shui Poison Arrows

According to feng shui masters, sharp corners or secret arrows are dangerous. When you put a table or bed along its path, the sharp edge or the secret arrow will cut into your direction. In the office, if you sit with an arrow point at your back, you may have a back problem or you may be backstabbed by your colleagues. Prepaid Card and Debit Card

There are two kinds of cards you may like to consider instead of a credit card. One of them is a debit card. The card is linked to your savings or current account. Every time you use the card the amount is deducted from your account. The other card is the prepaid card. You load the card with a certain amount and then you can use it as a credit card. Reading to Your Children

Reading to Your Children

To promote the reading habit among your children, the most important thing is that parents are avid readers too. It is not necessary to tell the children what to do. When they see you reading they will follow you. The best time to start the reading habit is before they attend school. Use the books to tell bedtime stories to them. Be patient with your children because when they enjoy the story they would like to listen to it again and again. Make reading a fun thing to do. Do not test them or else it becomes a part of their homework.
