You are a graduate. You are looking for a job, especially a marketing job. Before you look further, start a blog to make yourself a distinctive advantage over others to get hired. The reasons are not hard to find. When you start a blog there are three main activities- writing and posting articles, getting your blog posts noticed by search engines, and sending your articles to social media sites. 

 • Article writing: When you write and post articles on your blog you also demonstrate your competency in expressing yourself effectively in writing. This is a very important skill in all jobs.

 • Getting your articles noticed: You have optimized your blog and search engines are able to locate your articles easily. It means you know something about SEO. You have an added advantage over others in a job market. 

 • Circulate your articles: You bookmark your articles at social bookmarking and social networking sites for wider exposure. You also submit your articles to EzineArticles to be read by more readers. You are doing marketing as well as networking at the same time. 

 When you do all these three things together you are actually practicing inbound marketing. Your effectiveness will be noticed by others in the following ways: 

 • Favorable comments on your articles 
• Traffic Rank
• PageRank 
• Links to your blogs
• Word of mouth 

 Your chances of getting a job are further enhanced when your profile is located on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Plaxo. Send an elevator pitch to the right people to get them interested in you. When people in the trade are looking for a suitable candidate, you stand out among others because your blog is the testimony of your working capabilities. 

 Get a blog, start writing, and do online networking to get noticed and hired quickly.
