Essential Check List for Your About Page to Get Noticed

Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that your are. – Mandy Hale

The about page  is important for people to find out more about you and your blog. For new visitors, they want to know what they can get out of your blog. For regular visitors they want to find out more ways to interact with you. They are others who are interested to work with you.
It is good to start off by telling others what you can do for them because readers, like you and me, are more interested to know what they can get from your blog.  In the next section you can go on to talk about yourself and your blog.

There are three things readers want to know:

Who you are:

·         Have you uploaded your photo?
·         Tell the story of your background
·         Where do you live?
·         Are you a parent? It has bearing about what you are writing about such as parenting.

What you do:

·         Are you blogging part-time or fulltime?
·         How do you earn a living if you are blogging part-time?
·         When did you start blogging?
·         How often do you update your blog
·         What do you blog about
·         Your expertise

What the readers can expect from you and your blog:

·         What can you do for your readers?
·         Purpose of your blog
·         Write about your experience, skills or  education
·         Your credentials
·         Awards
·         Site traffic statistics and facts
·         What others say about you?
·         Accepting guest posts?
·         Accepting advertisements?
·         How to Contact you?
·         Your social networking connections
·         Your other blogs

An about page is to inform, educate and build rapport with your visitors. A well-written about page is a good way to turn casual visitors into regular fans of your blog.
