How Lucky Can You Be?

Be lucky

You have no control over chances like buying a lottery ticket. You can only wish and hope and nothing else you can do, but you have control over your luck. You can improve your luck in many ways:

  1. Be proactive: Find out what you want in life. Set goals, plan and get organized to get what you want. You just can’t sit around and wait for a lucky break. You have to fight for it, work at it and make it happen.

  1. Be prepared: There is no use that you want something and you are not ready for it to acquire the skills and get to know more about the subject that you are interested in. When you spot an opportunity you go for it confidently because you have already prepared for it.

  1. Be positive: Success and luck will not happen overnight. You have to work for it over a long period of time. Be resilient in the face of setbacks and difficulties. Be confident and look at the bright side of things. Luck will be with you sooner or later.

  1. Get the words out: The most important thing is to ask for what you want. When you do not tell, nobody knows. A good example is to ask for a raise. When you know you deserve it, you should all the more ask for it. Create your own luck by asking for it. Get attention by telling others what you want.

  1. Networking: Reaching out and connecting with the right people is another way to get you a lucky break. You get tips from your contact that there is a job opening when you are looking for work and you get help to get what you want from your circle of friends.

  1. Change: Change means taking risks, doing things differently to get a different and better result.  Change is to improve and make progress and there is always an element of luck to go with it.

  1. Do good: Be willing to help others. People will remember you and connect with you when there is an opening to help you in return.

  1. Work hard:  Thomas Jefferson says, “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more luck I have. As an example, I write and post an article a day on my blog and I work hard at it by writing better articles persistently and consistently over the years to get more and more readers.

  1. Be knowledgeable: Keep on learning, the more you know the more resourceful you will be. It means you will be more creative and more productive. You stand tall among others and get noticed.

  1. Be happy: When you are cheerful, you are optimistic and open-minded. You see opportunities in every way. Your delightful way attracts other people’s attention and brings you good luck.

“I’ve found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often” – Brian Tracy
