A healthy self-esteem brings you happiness and well-being. It is about how you feel about yourself, what you tell about yourself and what you think about yourself. There are easy and effective ways to develop and nurture your self-esteem. .

Mindful: According to Jeni MacNab, a health coach, mindfulness improves self-esteem and self-acceptance. Mindfulness is about deliberately paying attention to yourself but in a non-judgmental way. It is also about paying attention to what you are doing at the moment without thoughts about the past or the future. You enjoy peace of mind and your focus is on the activity at hand. You can do meditation such as yoga and Tai Chi to promote mindfulness.

Think positive: When you replace your negative thinking with positive thoughts you will change your outlook in life. You will look at the bright side of things instead of magnifying the negative aspect. Positive thinking fortifies your self-confidence and self-esteem.

About your strengths: Don’t dwell on your weaknesses, instead, focus on what you like to do and what you do best. It is easier to develop your strengths further than to lessen your weaknesses. Capitalize on your strengths and find out how you can benefits others. Finding meaning in what you do will boost your self-worth and your self-esteem. Always look for what you are good at.

Be confident: Do not let past failures to hold you back. Learn from them, avoid making the same mistakes and move on in life and try new ways of doing things.

Be happy with yourself: Buy yourself some new outfits and dress smartly It will boost your self-confidence and self-esteem. Go and join your friends for some fun things to do. Go to a movie, get a massage or have a nap. The most important thing is to feel free and relax to enjoy yourself

Appreciate yourself: Think of what you have achieved in the past. Value your successes more instead of just looking at your mistakes and failures. When you think well about yourself it will motivate you to go after more achievements in the future. Think of all the things you have in life like good health, a happy family, a rewarding career and financially independent. You will be proud of yourself.

Care of your body: Do you take care of yourself? Self-esteem is about loving your own body. Give up smoking and drink moderately. Exercise daily to boost your energy and your self-esteem. Have frequent showers and stay clean and fresh. You will feel good about yourself. Eat right to provide energy needed by your body to maintain your peak performance. Your self-esteem is measured by how much you care for yourself.

Anxiety and stress are created by low self-esteem. Avoid the negative emotions by thinking well and feeling good about yourself. Self-esteem is about a healthy self-image, self-worth and an honest appreciation of yourself.
