Facebook, Workplace and Wan Ahmad Farid

Facebook

According to a local Chinese paper, there are companies that worry about productivity being affected by staff going online to social networking sites like Facebook and Orkut. So they forbid staff to do so during office hours. However, there is a company by the name of Serena Software that allows the staff to have Facebook time every Friday for one to two hours. Jeremy Burton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Serena told Forbes that allowing the staff to get into Facebook is to allow them to be in touch with the market situation and understand the demand of the new generation.

Facebook is the No. 1 social networking site as reported by Google Zeitgeist 2008. Even headhunters go to Facebook to look for new staff. Ernst & Young is the first company to recruit new staff at Facebook in 2006. I am glad that I have made friends with Wan Ahmad Farid on Facebook and according to a local Chinese paper he has already got 200 friends. Dato Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh is the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election on January 17, 2009. I wish him success. Have you joined yet? I look forward to seeing you on Facebook.
