Positive Thinking for Lasting Happiness

Positive thinking for lasting happiness

When you ask most people about their main aim in life, their answer most probably is about getting happiness. It is your thoughts, most importantly, your positive thinking that leads to lasting happiness. The thought is a powerful thing that takes root in your mind. According to Norman Vincent Peale what the mind can conceive and believe, and the heart desire, you can achieve. What can you do to promote positive thinking and gain lasting happiness? Consider the following points:

Holding a job: A job gives you more than just a decent pay, it holds you in high self-esteem and confidence in what you are capable of. In other words, the thoughts about yourself are positive when you are employed. You also find joy in your job and getting things done. According to Henry Ford, there is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.

Early riser: Positive people are the early riser. They look forward to welcoming a new day with eagerness. They expect good things to happen and they are anxious to get things done as they have planned ahead and ready to execute the to-do list

Affirmative thoughts: Positive thinking promotes positive emotions. You are cheerful, sure of yourself, feel good about yourself and look at the future with a positive mindset.

Exercise: Aerobic exercise is definitely one of the best ways to enhance your positive outlook. Daily workout promotes energy and confidence in you.

Be motivated: Getting a pay raise, getting more productive, be trusted more and more by your boss, these are concrete motivational factors to promote positive thinking about yourself. So the formula is: motivation= positive thinking + happiness.

Be in the company of positive people: Get connected with those who are seeing a glass of water as half full instead of half empty. They encourage and motivate you so that you are just as happy and upbeat about life

"Our happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. So practice happy thinking every day. Cultivate the merry heart, develop the happiness habit, and life will become a continual feast."
Norman Vincent Peale
