Getting Mental Fitness and Be Happy

Getting mental fitness

Like physical fitness, mental fitness can be developed to boost your mental abilities and well-being. There are many ways to do it:

1.   Treat yourself right: Be kind to yourself, value and love yourself as what you are. This is the right thing to do to promote mental health so that you feel good about yourself. It is also a good way to develop better self-esteem.

2.  Thoughts and feelings: The way you think will affect your feelings and your feelings will, in turn, affect your thoughts and it goes in a cycle. The most important thing is to feed your mind with positive and happy thoughts. Your feelings and the way you do things will follow accordingly.

3.  Goals: Your goals are your passion and values. Setting challenging goals and achieving them is another way to promote confidence in you and mental wellness.

4.  Stay in the present: The ability to be mindful and pay attention to the task at hand is an effective way to be fit mentally. It means you will not allow the negative things of the past and the worry of the future to enter your mind.

5.  Accept changes: Flexibility is another hallmark of mental fitness. You adopt an open mind and make changes to improve your life.

6.  Creative: When you are able to imagine, innovate and create unique and original ideas, you are at the highest level of your mental fitness. It is because you are able to differentiate yourself and be ahead of others.

7.  Time management: The key point is to spend time doing things that help you to achieve your goals. You plan your work, you work your plan and you take prompt action. Doing things you enjoy promotes positive feedback to your mind.

8.  Manage problems: Mental fitness is the ability to look at a problem squarely and look for solutions and not to blame others or asking yourself why it should happen to you.

9.  Reward yourself: Pampering and rewarding yourself is a great way to make you feel good about yourself. Eat what you like, do what you enjoy, and go to places that delight you.  Why punish yourself and live in misery? Happiness is our ultimate aim.

10.                   Learning: Find joy in learning. Be curious and interested in learning new things. Learning is a fantastic way to broaden your mind, gain insight, get new knowledge and look at things from a different perspective.

"The feeling of being valuable - 'I am a valuable person'- is essential to mental health and is a cornerstone of self-discipline."
M. Scott Peck
