In a separate report by Forbes Asia, it is reported that Serena a software house is switching from Microsoft Exchange to Google’s Gmail. Gmail is part of Google Apps which include Gmail and Google Docs (word processing and spreadsheet). I remember when I was very much younger I was using WordStar and Lotus and when I bought a new PC it was bundled with Word and Excel. WordStar and Lotus were conveniently eliminated.
Is Google Apps able to take over Microsoft Office software? To give you a hint the headline of the article states: Google is starting to expose chinks in Microsoft’s armor.
In the same issue of Forbes Asia (September 29, 2008) there is another report about Google using Nexus 7000 manufactured by Cisco to store its massive data. Just imagine in a week Google’s YouTube adds 57,000 clips to its library.
On another front Chrome, the new kid on the block is eating into the market of other web browsers, namely Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
At home, we surf the net with Chrome, and we blog with blogger.com and collect earnings from AdSense and when we are out of the house we equip ourselves with GPhone. You just can’t live without Google. No wonder Google is
the most powerful brand on earth
