There are many ways to be happy at the workplace and here are the delightful ways to achieve happiness and success at the same time:
1. Smile: When you look gloomy, the people around you will keep you at a distance because they are wondering what is wrong with you. When you are cheerful and always wear a smile, you are also greeted with a broad smile from the people that you meet. It makes you happy
2. Be organized: Happiness is getting your work done smoothly in the office. It can only happen when you have organized yourself well. Every day, you do your to-do list in the evening for the following day and you prioritize your work according to the to-do list. There is no panic situation or emergency to build pressure on yourself.
3. Personal packaging: Pay attention to your grooming. The physical appearance will instantly generate happiness when you are smartly and appropriately dressed. You give others the impression that you are meticulous. A confident and happy person is a well-dressed person.
4. Develop people skills: Be interested in the people around you, be it your boss or your subordinates. You get your pay raise and promotion through your boss and you get things done through your subordinates. It pays to get along well with people around you. You show your interest in others and others will reciprocate and show their interest in you. In the end, you feel great and happy.
5. Take advantage of technology: Take advantage of advanced technology to boost productivity at the workplace. Maximize the use of spreadsheets, word processor,s, and other software to get your job done more efficiently and accurately. You will be happy to get work completed in less time. You can spend more time thinking of ways to be more productive, efficient, and effective and be happier.
6. A pot of plant on your desk: Do you know by placing a pot of green plant on your desk can immediately lift your mood? According to research having greenery on your desk can increase your levels of happiness and well-being.
7. Be sincere and truthful: You are happy when you have nothing to hide and there is no need to tell lies. You speak the truth even if you have made a blunder. The more lies you tell the more lies you need to tell in order to cover the truth. It frustrates you and you feel miserable at work worrying about when the truth will be discovered by your boss. As you know honesty is the best policy.
8. Mindful at work: Your mind is on the job at hand. You do not allow distraction or your mind to wander about or worry about something else. You do a job accurately and quickly. As soon as you get it done, you end with a happy note. You know there is no loose end to take care and it is executed as required in a timely fashion.
9. Be a trusted brand: Build the trust in you. Deliver as promised, go to work punctually and attend a meeting on time. Take full responsibility and accountability for your job and not blame others for your failure. Be the one that others count on and depend on. You establish your brand over time and it will not happen right away. A trusted brand is a happy brand.
10. Personal development: Be interested in learning new things. Adopt new ways of doing things to cut down the time needed to get a job done. Be more efficient and effective at work. Hone your skills and be the one that others look upon for answers. As you build up your expertise it boosts your self-confidence and your happiness.
11. A clutter-free workplace: When your desk is clean and tidy and the documents are filed orderly, it is not only pleasing to the eyes but you are happy to work in such an environment. You are pleased to know that you can easily retrieve a file when you want to because you know where to look for it as it has been filed properly.
Doing work you enjoy is happiness in itself. Develop yourself into a trusted brand will further boost your happiness at the workplace.
