“The pen is mightier than the sword,” says Edward Bulwer-Lytton. When you can write effectively you impact the readers forcefully: Here are the tips to allow your writing to carry more weight:
- Write to the point: You deliver your content to match your article title so that readers are not disappointed and turned off. You write nothing less and nothing more but just to focus on the subject.
- Write quality content: Use your own ideas. People are interested in your writing style, your originality, and your way of expression. Just stick to it
- Write cohesively: Make sure that the article is a good flow from the beginning to the end. It is well connected from one paragraph to another. There are a good opening and an action-oriented ending.
- Write naturally: Write the way you talk to someone sitting in front of you. It's friendly and likable.
- Write about yourself: Readers are more interested to know what you have to say about the subject that you are blogging about than your writing. As far as possible include your own experience in your article.
- Write for the readers: Don't write for the search engines. In fact, when you write for the readers by using the appropriate words, it is even easier for the search engines to pick up your article simply because readers are using the same keywords that you have used in your article to search the Web.
- Write short, simple words and short paragraphs: Write to express and not to impress the readers. It is all about communication and connection with the readers.
- Write concisely: Write long enough to convey the message but not too short that the essence of the article is not there. Readers have too many articles to read in too short a time. If you want the readers to read your article you have to get rid of verbiage.
- Write vividly: Employ the exact adjective to write attractively. Provoke the imagination of the readers
- Write clearly: In order to send a correct message to the readers always use the right words. A clear message allows the readers to understand your message fully
When you write effectively you will not only express yourself precisely but you create a good impression on the readers as well. According to Joseph Pulitzer,’ Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly, so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.’
Happy writing!
