12 Key Factors of Success

Think Like a Winner
“The key to success lies in your particular manner of thinking. When you change how you think about yourself, your relationships, your goals, and your world. Your life will change. If you change the quality of your thinking you necessarily will change the quality of your life,” say Dr. Walter Doyle Staples, the author of the famous book, Think Like a Winner. Here are the 12 key factors of success as listed in his book:

1. Positive mental attitude: Your attitude decides who and what you are, and whether you respond to events under control or out of control. You cannot hope to control event that comes your way. But you can control the way you react to such events by adopting a positive mental attitude.

2. Total belief in yourself: Have confidence in yourself. Believe in your abilities, for you are who you think you are. You have the necessary skills and abilities to accomplish great things. You need only accept this fact to move ahead with your life.

3. Big, challenging goals: A strong sense of purpose in life is essential to all change and meaningful improvement. With a clear, central purpose comes directions, meaning, and positive expectations. With each step of progress comes a sense of fulfillment. With fulfillment comes a sense of pride, satisfaction, and other good feelings associates with high self-esteem and high self-worth. “Happiness,” wrote Emerson,” is the progressive realization of a worthy goal.”

4. Responsible behavior: The hallmark of all winners is accepting total responsibility for everything they say and do. As a result, they are confident and feel in control. They understand that with control comes freedom of choice and a realization that anything is possible if only they are willing to pay the price to earn it,

5. Time Management: Time management is really self-management. It is a thinking exercise that involves setting priorities and disciplining yourself in the use of time in order to derive maximum benefit.

6. Personal development: Personal development involves working on yourself, on the key mental skills that you must contribute to the performance equation. The more you improve yourself, the more you’ll like, respect, and believe in yourself.

7. Health: You must work hard at maintaining a high level of health and accept responsibility for all of your actions that are health-related. There is no cure for a lifetime of bad health habits.

8. Creativity: Your subconscious is a vast storehouse. It contains the wisdom of the past, the understanding of the present, and the vision of the vision. By tapping into its vast reserves, you can create new thoughts about anything you choose to think about.

9. Service: When you get right down to the root meaning of success, you will find that it simply means to provide service. And the more service you provide, the more success you will have. “To do more for the world than the world does for you, that is success,” according to Henry Ford.

10. Excellence: Only when you attain excellence in your chosen field can you hope to become truly successful in life. Anything less and you cannot hope to reach your full potential. Be the best that you can be.

11. Superior human relations: There are three principal ways to develop key interpersonal skills that lead to superior human relations. The first involves adding value to other people through recognition, the second is seeing things from another’s point of view; and the third is effective listening skills. Successful human relations is really the art of making other people feel good about themselves.

12. Leadership: “To be a leader, an executive must first develop himself and then help develop those for whom he is responsible,” says Koestenbaum.

“It remains for you to DREAM what you dare to dream, DO what you dare to do, and BE what you dare to be!’ His book concludes with this powerful line.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

Deepak Chopra
Deepak Chopra

According to The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, ‘spirit’ means part of a person that includes their mind, feelings, and character rather than their body. How do you achieve spiritual success?

Deepak Chopra mentions the following seven laws in his famous book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success:

  1. The law of pure potentiality: One way to enjoy the benefits of pure potentiality is through the daily practice of silence, meditation, and non-judgment. A fourth component is to spend time in nature. It enables you to sense the harmonious interaction of all the elements and forces of life and gives you a sense of unity with all of life.

  1. The law of giving: It is stated that as long as you‘re giving, you will be receiving. The more you give, the more confidence you will gain in the miraculous effects of this law. And as you receive more, your ability to give more will also increase

  1. The law of ‘karma’ or cause and effect: Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind… what we sow are what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

  1. The law of least effort: Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease…with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease. When you have the exquisite combination of acceptance, responsibility, and defenselessness, you will experience life flowing with effortless ease. The least effort is expended when your actions are motivated by love.

  1. The law of intention and desire: Intention lays the groundwork for the effortless, spontaneous, frictionless flow of pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. The only caution is that you use your intent for the benefit of mankind. This happens spontaneously when you are in alignment with the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

  1. The law of detachment: Attachment comes from poverty consciousness because attachment is always to symbols (cars, houses, banknotes, clothes, airplanes). Detachment is synonymous with wealth consciousness because with detachment there is the freedom to create. Only from detached involvement can one have joy and laughter.

  1. The law of “Dharma” or purpose in life: Everyone has a purpose in life… a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with services to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals

What I have learnt from this book:

  • Harness the power of your interest and passion for the benefits of others. (Law No.7)
  • Do not attach to material things. When you are born you don’t bring them along. And when you die you can’t take them along with you. (Law No.6)
  • Kindness begets kindness. (Law No 2)
  • Our actions, good or bad, will generate in return the same effects. (Law No. 3)
  • To live harmoniously with nature, capture the forces of the environment to your advantage. Feng Shui harnesses the positive power of the natural landscape and avoids hostile situations. (Law No. 1)
  • Tai Chi is a form of meditation in motion. When you are doing the very slow and graceful movements you are in tune with nature. You think of nothing else but just concentrate on the movements. According to Deepak Chopra, the combination of movement and stillness enables you to unleash your creativity in all directions – wherever the power of your attention takes you. No wonder I get a lot of creative ideas for my article writing when I am doing Tai Chi in the morning. (Law No. 1)
  • When your motives to do a thing are right, you don’t have to struggle to do it. You just do it effortlessly. (Law No. 4 and 5)

Skin Care Tips – Things To Do And Avoid

Best Skin Care Tips

Your skin is the fingerprint of what is going on inside your body, and all skin conditions, from psoriasis to acne to aging, are the manifestations of your body's internal needs, including its nutritional needs.

Dr. Georgiana Donadio

A healthy living lifestyle and healthy eating habits will greatly improve your complexion and you will look youthful much longer. Here are the things you should do and some of the things to avoid.

To-do list

Water: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated

Skim milk: Skim milk and non-fat yogurt are low- calorie sources of calcium. It is essential for soft, smooth skin and strong bones

Fruits: Take note of the following fruits

  • Cantaloupe: It has a rich source of potassium which helps the body’s moisture level and the nervous system. Honeydew is my favorite.
  • Watermelon: With a water content of almost 92 % it hydrates your body and skin and its natural sugars are an energy booster.
  • Citrus such as oranges, which is high in vitamin C, prevents scurvy.

Essential fatty acids:” Essential fatty acids are responsible for healthy cell membranes, which is not only what act as barriers to harmful things but also as the passageway for nutrients to cross in and out and for waste products to get in and out of the cell,” says Ann Yelmokas McDermott, Ph.D., a nutritionist at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston. ”Because it is the cell membrane that also holds water in, the stronger that barrier is, the better your cells can hold moisture. And that means plumper, younger-looking skin.” Look for salmon and walnuts to supply essential fatty acids.

Vegetable fat: About 75% of an avocado’s calories come from fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat. It is high in potassium which helps with the growth of new cells. The skin will become healthier when your body is able to produce new cells. It is also rich in B vitamins and E

Lean meats: Chicken and fish are rich in protein as well as potassium. In the labs, nutritional scientists and biochemists have proved that a diet poor in proteins hastens aging in the human body.

Whole grains and legumes: Seeds in their natural state – cereal and seed grains, nuts and legumes are also rich sources of protein

Sleep: A good night’s sleep of about eight hours will rejuvenate and repair your skin. Several studies have found that sleep-deprived humans have lower levels of a growth hormone the skin needs to repair environmental damage and produce new skin cells. When skin cell replacement slacks you will get wrinkles.

Exercise: One way to purify your skin is through exercise. When you exercise you sweat and toxins are discharged from your pores.

Positive emotions: Positive emotions such as happiness will radiate a glowing complexion and also strengthen your immune system

To avoid

The sun: Wear a hat and apply sunscreen if you have to spend time under the sun. Otherwise, avoid the scorching sun

Alcohol: Too much drinking will displace nutrients from your body.

Smoking: Smoking dehydrates your skin and depletes your skin of essential nutrients and the skin will age faster than non-smokers.

Fried foods: The cleansing process is slowed down as it is difficult to digest unsaturated fatty acids

Negative emotions: When you are depressed, worried, or angry, you frown and when it happens very often lines will appear on your forehead.

Healthy and youthful-looking skin will boost your self-esteem and confidence and brings you happiness.

Green Tea Health benefits

Green Tea

I am a regular drinker of green tea. The other day I was able to cure my stomach upset after taking too many mangosteen and rambutan. I drank a cup of green tea and I had a quick bowel movement and I felt better after that. Here are some of the health benefits of drinking green tea:

· Brain benefits: According to research from Japan green tea catechins may improve reference and working-memory related learning ability and help ward off Alzheimer’s.

· Reduce the risk of cancer: Green tea is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). It is a powerful antioxidant that inhibits the growth of cancer cells and it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.

· Skin benefits: Green tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Soak a cotton bud and apply it to the affected area. In the lab, when green tea is applied directly to the skin it is able to block sun-triggered skin cancer. No wonder skin preparations containing green tea from deodorants to creams are plentiful on the market.

· Inhibit the abnormal formation of blood clots: Thrombosis is the major cause of heart attacks and stroke.

· Atherosclerosis: A study involving laboratory hamsters suggests that green tea inhibits the hardening and thickening of arteries.

· Lowering LDL cholesterol: Researchers believe that green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

· Rheumatoid arthritis: Green tea is able to reduce inflammation and thereby bring relief from the pain and suffering of this debilitating disease.

· Detoxification system: Green tea stimulates the liver to get rid of the body of free radicals and other foreign chemicals that damage cells.

Make drinking green tea a part of your healthy daily habit.

Make Money with Your New Blog at Blogger.com in 12 Steps

BLOG

“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.” – Brian Clark

This article is written for those who wish to make some money out of his blog at Blogger.com. You can earn money from pay per click such as AdSense. You can also generate income from pay per action by joining affiliate programs such as Healthexpress and Sitesell.

Here are the twelve steps to establish your first blog:

 1. Choose a niche: The first thing is to decide on the subject that you are going to write about. It should be a topic that you are passionate about and you know a lot about the subject. This is to ensure that you can continue to write without running out of ideas. The other thing to consider is that the subject must be able to attract a wide audience or else there will be few visitors to your blog.

 2. Write 10 articles: Once you have made up your mind on your niche, the next thing is to write 10 unique, original, and appealing articles. This is to create an impactful first impression on your readers.

3. Get a name for your blog: Think of a creative name for your blog. It should be related to your niche. You may need to think of more than one name as the name you like may have been taken up

 5. AdSense and affiliate programs: Now you can place your AdSense ads and other ads on affiliate programs to match your articles. You can refer to this page for the placement of ads and also join the affiliate programs if they are relevant to your niche.

 6. Submit Sitemap: Do not expect readers to come to your blog automatically the moment you have your ten articles posted First thing first. Submit your Sitemap to Google Webmaster, Yahoo, Bing (formerly Live Search, Windows Live Search, and MSN Search) and Ask.com. A Sitemap is to allow search engines to index the pages and content of your site. You can do so to submit a Blogger blog Sitemap by using http://nameof yourblog.blogspot.com/rss.xml or as an example: this is my sitemap: http://allaboutlivingwithlife.blogspot.com/atom.xml.

 7. Getting noticed: Next, submit your blog to blog directories such as Technorati, Fuelmyblog, and Blogtoplist. You also need to submit your RSS feeds to such sites as FeedBurner and Feedcat.net.and ping (you ping to notify the services that you have updated your blog) your site at http://pingomatic.com.

 8. Getting connected: The other thing for you to do is to join social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook. Plaxo, Plurk) and social bookmarking sites (Digg, Reddit, Mixx) to bookmark your articles. These are the places where the readers are. Use Ping.fm and Socialmarker to bookmark your articles.

 9. Communicate: Go to other blogs with similar themes to pass constructive comments and join a forum to share your ideas with others with common interests.

 10. Marketing tools: To promote viral effect add a “Share” button from http://www.addthis.com on your blog so that your readers can bookmark, add as favorites, print, or email your articles. The other thing is to add a Widgetbox from http://www.widgetbox.com on your blog to expose your articles and blog to many sites. Don’t forget to add an RSS feed on your blog so that readers can subscribe to your feed.

 11. Decide posting frequency: Now that you have posted your ten articles the next thing is to decide how often you are going to do posting in a regular and consistent way. Post an article once a day or once a week? Make up your mind and do it like clockwork

 12. Be persistent: Work for the long-term. There is no instant success. Write, post, bookmark your articles, and ping your site regularly. Blogging is about writing, posting, marketing your articles, and connecting with your readers and other bloggers. Related posts:

Happiness in Our Daily Life

Happiness

Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it will elude you. But if you turn your attention to other things, it comes and softly sits on your shoulder.
You can find happiness in the things you do in your daily life. Some of these things may be trivial, but it does bring happiness to you. These are some of the examples of happy moments in our daily life:

  • Accomplish the tasks as listed in the to-do list for the day.
  • Help my child with her homework to solve some tough questions.
  • Smile and talk to my co-workers.
  • Bring home some favorite snack food of my daughter.
  • Have a weekly nap on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
  • A reader comments that he shares the same view as what I have mentioned in my article.
  • A meeting with my bosses ends in laughing out loud.
  • Help my wife in the household chores.
  • Listen to my favorite music.
  • Read a motivating article on the net.
  • Written an interesting and appealing article.
  • Notice that the Traffic Rank has gone up.
  • After an evening jog around the field.
  • Admiring the pot of plant on my desk next to my PC.
  • Getting ready to sleep after a productive and smooth day.
  • Enjoy dinner at home with my spouse and children.
  • Listen to the birds chirping while performing Tai Chi early in the morning.
  • Wake up in the morning and look forward to a new day with hope and great expectation.
  • Have a leisurely breakfast to kick start a new day.
  • When I am doing the things that I enjoy doing such as writing and posting articles.

Happiness is a by-product of taking action, doing something for yourself and others, and fostering a closer relationship. According to Norman Lear,” Life is made up of small pleasures. Happiness is made up of those tiny successes. The big ones come too infrequently. And if you don’t collect these tiny successes, the big ones don’t really mean anything.”

Discover happiness in your daily life.

Sasha Pivovarova

According to the New Straits Times, at 24, the Russian-born model Sasha Pivovarova holds the record for six consecutive campaigns for Prada. She is married to a photographer, Igor Vishnyakov. In 2005 she shot to stardom after her husband sent her photos to modeling agency IMG. In early 2009, she ranked 2nd on the Models.com Top 50 Models Women list, sharing the spot with Natasha Poly.

Here are her secrets of keeping herself healthy, fit, and beautiful:

• She eats a big breakfast. (Breakfast is the most important meal in the day. It provides fuel and energy for you to start a new day right.)
