7 Easy and Effective Ways to Get a Raise

Get a raise

A deserving pay raise is tied closely to your performance. Your qualifications mean nothing at the workplace. The boss is only interested to know what you can do for the company and what you can contribute. Consider the following points to promote a better chance to get a pay raise.

  1. Productive: Productivity is the outcome of effectiveness and efficiency. The single most important consideration for a pay raise is your productivity. Are you able to do more in less time?

  1. Concentration and focus: When you are at work put in 100% attention to your work at hand. Quality work can only be achieved with dedication and diligence.

  1. Prompt action: When there is an assignment given by your boss, get it done right away and deliver promptly to demonstrate your capabilities and effectiveness.

  1. Simplify your work: Your ability to spend less time in getting things done is crucial. It means you have more time to think about further improvement in your work.

  1. A problem-solver, not a problem creator: You are employed to solve problems and not to throw back problems to your boss. Use your inventive mind  to overcome problems at work and report what  you have done  is the right approach at work

  1. Creative and innovative: The only way to move ahead and stay ahead is to be creative and innovative to get things done more efficiently and effectively and no less thoroughly. Your ability to contribute value to the company will be noticed and very much appreciated by your boss.

  1. A valued employee: You are hired for your strengths to complement the strengths of your boss. As an example, your boss is good at marketing and you are good at accounting. Your expertise in accounts and finance will support his marketing effort. What other skills do you have? As an example, your fluency in more than one language will stand you in good stead. Your boss will capitalize your language skills to expand his market in uncharted territories. Be a trusted brand and a very valued employee.

A salary increment is a by-product of what you have done for the company. The more you can give yourself to the company, the more likelihood of you in getting a decent pay raise.
