16 Tips to Improve the Quality of Your Life

You can improve the quality of your life by changing the environment at home and at work. You can also upgrade the quality of your life by changing your lifestyle and your relationships with others. Take note of the following tips to live a better quality of life:


  1. Home: You don’t have to live in a mansion but you can improve your living environment by making sure that your living room and your bedrooms are clean and tidy. According to Feng Shui master, a home without clutter will attract positive energy. When you are at home you will enjoy the calmness and serenity.

  1. Office: A happy office worker is someone who sits beside a window with a pot of plant on his desk. Researchers found that workers who kept at least one plant in the office were happier at their workplace and were more satisfied with life than those without a plant. They were even happier than those workers with a window but without greenery. Your positive mood can be further heightened by removing from your desk all unwanted files and documents except those that you are working on. A tidy desk gives you calmness and concentration.

  1. Neighborhood: According to a Chinese saying, close neighbors are better than distant relatives. Getting along well with your neighbors means not only living in a peaceful and harmonious environment but also helping each other out whenever the need arises.

  1. Love yourself, your family, and your pets: Love is a form of positive emotion. Loving yourself and your family will vibrate warmness and kindness at home. Of course, your pet, such as a dog, will give you unconditional love. Life is worth living when it is filled with love.

  1. Start a new day early: By getting up early you can accomplish a lot without being disturbed. You can plan the day ahead of you, you can meditate, you can do exercise, and most important of all you can have a leisurely breakfast to kick start a new day.

  1. Relax: Life is stressful. Learn to unwind by taking up Tai Chi, Yoga, deep breathing exercise, or any other forms of relaxation technique to regain your balance

  1. Take frequent breaks during the day: You have experienced this in life. Every time when you get stuck with a problem, you take a break and have a cup of coffee and when you go back to your workstation your problem is immediately solved. Take frequent breaks to allow your brain to clear the clutter and work better.

  1. Be physically active: The quality of your life is determined by the state of your health and fitness. You enjoy more at work and at play when you are in top form physically. Exercise every day.

  1. Plan the day: One way to avoid stress is to plan your day well in advance. Carrying out the daily tasks will be smooth and without anxiety. You can plan ahead by getting up early.

  1. Interest and passion: What is your interest? What are the things that you are good at? There is always something to look forward to in life when you have something you enjoy doing every day. I enjoy blogging and I look forward to every new day with hope, energy, enthusiasm, and great expectations.

  1. Be connected: Your connection with your relatives and friends will give you moral support. You add color to your life when you are able to laugh and share a few jokes with your friends.

  1. Financially independent: Money is not everything. However, with money you can indulge and enjoy the material things in life. You can have quality living when you are self-supporting.

  1. Enjoy the finer things in life: Listen to classical music, visit the art galleries, attend concerts, appreciate literature and poems. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

  1. Just be happy: According to Norman Lear,”Life is made up of small pleasures. Happiness is made up of those tiny successes. The big ones come too infrequently. And if you don’t collect all of these tiny successes, the big ones don’t really mean anything.”

  1. Random acts of kindness and giving: A small gesture like saying ‘thank you’ will delight the other person. You will make her day just by complimenting her beautiful dress. Give to the needy. Your kindness will always be remembered and you will be happy for being generous and kind.

  1. Reading and learning: Reading enriches your mind. You gain knowledge by reading and learning. There is never a dull moment in life when you are a book lover. The more you learn the more ways you will know to live a richer life intellectually.


A better quality of life means better health and more happiness.
