7 Tips to Gain Followers at Twitter

Twitter
Twitter

Twitter is a fun place to be. This is a great spot to get to know more people and to check out for breaking news. The other wonderful thing is to be followed and follow and to get followers. Here are the top 7 tips to get more followers:

 1. Username: The best username is to use your own name. As an example, this is my username: charleschuack. Try not to use numbers and underscores

 2. Bio: Use an elevator pitch to describe yourself. What do you do? Mention your interest and passion in as few words as possible. As an example, this is my elevator pitch: A husband and a father of two. Article writer and a blogger with a niche blog (self-improvement).

 3. Image: If there is nothing for you to hide, it is good to include your photo to show your sincerity in making a connection

 4. Websites: Be sure to list your websites so that from your profile page people can click and go to your sites.

 5. Tweets: This is very important. What I usually do is that I use Ping.fm to post and bookmark my articles on a daily basis. From my personal experience, people are interested to find out what you have to say. Your articles will attract their attention. I get most of my followers because they find my articles interesting.

 6. Look for people to follow: Go to “Search” and key in a topic relating to your niche or interest. As an example my niche is ‘self-improvement”. Twitter will return real-time results with people talking about self-improvement. From the results, I can select people to follow and to be connected with.

 7. Be followed and follow: When people follow you, it is polite that you follow back. However, I will not follow people with very little information on their profile page. There are no bio, image and not much tweets

Twitter, by far, is the most interesting social networking site on the Net.

Getting followers at Twitter – The Right Way

Twitter

In my previous two articles I have mentioned getting followers without trying in three different ways:

 • Bookmark your articles
• A bio at your profile section
• Don’t use underscores and numbers for your username

I find that the most effective way to get people interested in you is your useful articles. No wonder content is king. I have close to 200 followers and most of them follow me after reading my articles. Naturally, I follow back. The most effective way to market your articles is through Ping.fm. Take note of the following point:

 • Tweet your article title.

It must be appealing enough to entice readers to read and retweet your article. The other meaningful way is to do a search to follow people related to your niche. As an example ‘ self-improvement’ is my niche. When I key in these two words to do a search I can see the latest tweet on this subject. I will select among the list suitable people to follow. In most cases, they will follow me because we are talking on the same wavelength. When I choose someone to follow, the most important thing that I look for is their bio. The more the person tells about himself the easier it is for others to follow. The most effective way is to use an elevator pitch at your bio, short and right to the point about yourself. I will not follow someone without a bio. Happy following and being followed.

Twitter - Getting more followers

Twitter

I have found out that the more you tell about yourself the easier it is for you to get followers.

According to two articles from Hubspot, Can Having a Twitter Bio Get You 8 Times as Many Followers? and Bio Characteristics of Twitter Power Users, you can get more followers when you include a bio and a homepage link in your Twitter profile. Further to that, it is revealed in the second article that your title such as official, founder, speaker, expert, guru, and author in that order is able to get more followers. The kind of work that you do will also work in your favor when you are a marketer, entrepreneur, blogger, CEO, or a consultant in that order of popularity. The things that you blog about are another deciding factor to get more followers especially when you blog about marketing, news, health, and tech in that order of importance. If you are a husband, a father, a wife, or a mom in the same order of choice you are also in a favorable position to get followers.

After reading the two articles I have changed my bio to read as follow:

A husband and a father of two. An article writer and a blogger with a niche blog (Self -improvement).

By the way, there is also another article saying that a username with underscores and numbers will get fewer followers. I have also changed my username from Charles66 to CharlesChuaCK. You can read this interesting article at Picking a Twitter Username? Don't Use Numbers or Underscores.

I will keep you posted if I do get more followers then.

Happy following and being followed

When you are a part of Twitter you want to have as many followers as possible. Of course, when you want people to follow you, you need to follow people first. But when you follow people, they may not follow you. What do you do? There is an easier way out – use your compelling articles that your post to your website regularly. How do you do it? You sign up with Twitterfeed. Read my article on Twittefeed at:

and make arrangements with the site to bookmark your article on Twitter on a regular basis. If you write an article a day you inform Twitterfeed to bookmark Twitter every 24 hours. When you tweet on a regular basis people are attracted by your articles and after reading a few of your interesting articles they are inclined to follow you. As I post one article per day it is bookmarked daily on Twitter. I get followers every day. Of course, do remember when others follow you; you follow them so that everyone is happy.
