Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight. ~Benjamin Franklin
Your worry is in your mind. More often than not, you are worried about getting things done. What you can do is replacing your worrisome thoughts and think about a workable solution and an action plan. Here are the things you can do to cure your habit of worrying:
1. Control the situation: A simple thing that you can do is to avoid messiness and clutter. As an example, a tidy workplace promotes calmness in you and avoids getting into your nerve. You can retrieve an item easily because it is filed properly. Getting organized and staying organized and living an orderly life is the best way to have peace of mind and worry less. There is no worry when you are in control.
2. Feeling good: How do you feel now? Are you in a state of peacefulness? Can you slow down and be less hurry? Imagine that you are on holiday, you will be relaxed and worry less and able to concentrate on what you do and enjoy it.
3. Focus positively: Look at things with an optimistic view, react to events calmly. Think of solutions instead of dwelling on the problem. These are the things you can do to avoid anxiety.
If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul. ~Rabbi Harold Kushner
4. Be healthy: Eat nutritiously, avoid fat, sugar, and salt by not eating at fast food outlets. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Take break whiles at work. Be active physically and get enough sleep. Be fit and energetic daily to face challenges confidently. Taking action is to avoid getting worried.
5. Live here and now: Adopt the right attitude to live life. You neither can do anything about the past nor the future. But you can do a lot today. The smart way is to do those things that are important to you and get what you want out of life.
Each today, well-lived makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life. ~ Sanskrit poem
6. Don’t worry about things beyond your control: There is nothing you can do about the economy or anything at all that you have no control. Focus your thoughts and energy on what you can do right now and do it. Do the best you can and do not pay too much attention to the outcome.
You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. ~Brian Tracy
7. What is the problem: Every time when you worry, ask yourself this question. It brings focus to your mind about things that you are concerned about. More often than not, there is no cause for alarm.
Let us be of good cheer, remembering that the misfortunes hardest to bear are those which will never happen. ~James Russel Lowell
Don’t torture yourself by worrying. Change your thinking, take action and transform your life for the better.
