10 Effective Ways to Live a Peaceful, Simple, Happy and Healthy life

A Peaceful, Simple, Happy and Healthy life

The best things in life are nearest:  Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you.  Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.  ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Everyday life can be plain and without excitement, but it is the simplicity that you get to enjoy peace of mind and happiness in a healthy way of  life:

1.      Early riser: It is peace and quiet in the morning. Get up early to enjoy the fresh air and the calmness. To bring more tranquility into your life, do a round of Tai Chi. It is a kind of meditation in motion to give you inner peace, composure, alertness, and energy.

2.      Peaceful and positive thoughts: On a brand new day, think confidently and fill your heart with love, kindness and forgiveness. When you feel good, you will incline to do good and be happy.

3.      Breakfast: Breakfast is about breaking fast after 8 hours of sleep without food. When you get up early you have plenty of time to enjoy a simple yet nutritious meal leisurely.  This is the first meal in a day to provide energy to start a new day right.

4.      An organized life: To get organized is to plan ahead and live an orderly and simple life.  An organized life is a disciplined, balanced, responsible, and successful life. You take care of those important things in your life such as your work and your family.  When you do the right things you get peace of mind and happiness.

5.      Do less but more productive: Do what is important in your life, forget the small stuff.  Do less to be less stressful and avoid overwhelm. A simple life is unhurried and only doing a few important but productive things every day. You focus on doing the right thing, the right way at the right time.

6.      Simple healthy habits: Be clean, take a bath, and drink water throughout the day. Make it a daily habit of drinking green tea. Walk more often and drive less. Exercise the body and avoid smoking and drinking. Consume more fruits and vegetables and avoid junk food. Be wise; reduce the intake of sugar, salt, and fat. Get away from air pollution and second-hand smoke and sleep well and sufficiently.

7.      Enjoy your life now: Loosen up, just relaxed and enjoy the moment, be here and now. Do what you like and believe in what you do so that you enjoy the process of doing it. Think of nothing else but the task at hand.

8.      Simple pleasures of life: There are  31 Ways to Enjoy the Simple Pleasures Every Day.

9.      Exercise the brain: Be mentally alert.  A simple life is a rich life when you develop a daily habit of reading. Your mind is constantly working, gaining new knowledge, and learning new things.  Take up a hobby that you like and enjoy to stimulate the mind like gardening and pottery. Life may be simple, but it is rewarding, fulfilling, and satisfying.

10.  Be yourself: Live your own life, don’t compare. Live within your means, do not be jealous, envious, or unhappy about things you do not have. There is peace and contentment when you are happy with what you are and what you have.

Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are.  When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.  ~Lao Tzu

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.  ~Leonardo DaVinci

Reiki for Peace of Mind and Happiness

Meditation

According to The International Center for Reiki Training, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. What can we learn from Reiki to promote peace of mind and happiness? Check out the following:

1.      Gratitude: Be thankful to God for your existence in this world. Be happy to live in abundance and be closely connected with your family members and others who are dear to you.

2.      Less worry: Enjoy living in the moment. Find pleasure in what you do every day. The future is not here yet and it is beyond your reach; the best thing is to live life fully now. The future will take shape in what you do now. You will reap what you have sown.

3.      Do not be angry or jealous: Peace of mind is shattered the moment you fill your heart with negative emotions such as hatred, anger and resentment. Forgive and forget to regain your inner balance and composure.

4.      Build a relationship with your work: Find meaning in what you do and be happy at work. Happiness is built when you are interested in what you do and enjoy the process of working. You will find better ways of doing things so that you are able to do less and produce more.

5.      Count your blessings: Being in good health and holding a job you like are the best things to happen to you in life. Be appreciative and enjoy what you have got. Be glad to be benefited by a circle of good friends

6.      Non-attachment: You have come into this world naked and you will be gone without taking anything with you. Peace of mind is about not attaching too much to your material possessions. The other thing is that you do your best and do not think too much of the outcome. You will accept calmly the results.

7.      Meditate: Do Tai Chi or yoga in the early morning to promote energy, calmness and reduce stress. Do it daily to promote inner peace.

8.      Less wants: Wanting less is getting more satisfaction and contentment in life. Peace of mind is prevailed when you want less and avoid getting into debt.

9.      Kindness: Random acts of kindness cost you nothing. Just be alert in your daily life to lend a helping hand or say a few kind words to warm the heart and lift the spirits of others.

10.  Embrace nature: Admire, respect and appreciate the awesomeness of nature and its wonders. The only way to marvel nature is to slow down and live. Take your time to witness the rising and the setting of the sun. Look at the changing clouds in the sky and listen to the delightful chirping of the birds on the tress. Look and listen to the rushing waves to the shore in the evening and see the moon slowly appearing when the earth transforms itself slowly into total darkness in the skyline.

Peace of mind and happiness is living in harmony with nature and other human beings.

10 Tips to Get Peace of Mind

Peace of mind

Peace of mind is a state in which your mind is blank and there is nothing to bother you except that you are concentrating on the task at hand. How do you develop such a calm and peaceful state? Here are ten ways to do it:

1. Do Tai Chi: It is a form of meditation in motion. The best time is to do it in the early morning. In order to do it correctly, you need to have full concentration of your mind. The moment you think of something else you will miss a step and you have to do it all over again. The slow and graceful movements of Tai Chi are good training for focus and concentration. Do it regularly to promote calmness and serenity in your mind.

2. Deep breathing: Inhale slowly and deeply right through your abdomen at a count of five and exhale just as slowly at a count of 20. This is an excellent form of exercise to induce peace of mind and calmness. I usually do it in the morning together with Tai Chi to enhance a good feeling in me.

3. Mindful: Work with concentration to promote peace of mind. Mindfulness is a state of flow in which you forget about the passage of time. You just enjoy doing what you are doing in the moment

4. Avoid negative influences: Avoid reading newspapers or TV news with too much negative news. Avoid people with pessimistic outlook in life.

5. A conducive environment: Do your work or meditate at a place without noise and disturbances. The only connection you have is with nature.

6. Avoid negative aspect of things: Don’t hold grudges, forgive and forget to get peace of mind. The thought of revenge will disturb your calmness like throwing stones into a still lake. Don’t regret about things of the past or worry about the future. Don’t envy or feel jealous of others.

7. Exercise: Aerobic exercise such as jogging is a great way to send oxygen to every part of your organs, such as your brain. You get a feeling of well-being and calmness after each session. You will feel cool, calm and collected.

8. Sleep: Your concentration and calmness will suffer if you get insufficient sleep. A good night’s sleep is essential to rejuvenate your body and repair damages done to your body after a hard day's work.

9. Positive emotions: Generate positive emotions such as cheerfulness, optimism, hopefulness to promote calmness and peace of mind.

10. Solve problems: Life is full of problems. Don’t dwell on a problem but find a way to overcome it quickly, if not, your calm mind will be disturbed. Learn to live with a situation in which you cannot change.

According to Remez Sasson, the mind is like a room that is always full with all sorts of stuff. There is no free space there. When it is emptied, it becomes filled with peace of mind.
