Questions to Ask Yourself about Your New Year’s Resolutions

We are almost in the final quarter of 2010. Take a good look at the New Year’s resolutions and find out what you have achieved in the past 8 or 9 months in the following areas of your life. Ask yourself the relevant questions relating to your resolutions and take stock of the situation:


1. Health

• Are you moving your body every day?

• Is your weight well under control?

• Do you get up early?

• Are you sleeping well at night?

• Are you in a positive mood most of the time?

• Do you find peace of mind?


2. Career

•Are you getting more productive?

• Are you making progress as what you have planned for your career?

• Do you devote time to be creative and innovative?

• Are you happy at work?

• Have you improved your people skills?

• Are you carrying a to-do list daily?

• Do you take breaks?


3. Personal finance

• Have you reduced your debt?

• Are you living within your means?

• Are you able to curb your wants?

• Do you pay yourself first?


4. Home

• Are you spending more time with your spouse and children?

• Do you find peace and serenity at home?

• Are you spending less time watching TV?

• Are you helping in the household chores?


5. Relationships

• Are you connected with the right people to advance your career?

• Are you constantly in touch with people who mean a lot to you?

• Are you taking an interest in the people around you and find out what you can do for them?


6. Learning

• Have you devoted a time every day to read a page or an article?

• Are you constantly updating yourself in the area of your expertise?

• Are you receptive to changes?


Positive results

Congratulate yourself if you have made positive changes in your life. It means you are a self-starter and you are able to take immediate action and stick to it. You are making progress and you are able to see encouraging results. Let your good habits bring you more success in life.

Negative results
Do not despair, just pick one very important thing to do right now and change your life for the better. Don’t wait for the coming New Year to get moving. What is it that matters the most to you now? To improve your health, to be more productive at work, to spend more time with family or… Make a choice and start right away. Don’t regret the past or worry about the future. Do it now and make it a good habit and welcome the New Year with confidence.
