10 Positive Ways to Get Things Done

10 Positive Ways to Get Things Done

Time is always limited, getting the most important things done every day is crucial. Here are productive ways to do so:

1.       Passionate: When you are passionate about your job, you are enthusiastic and excited to get things done. Your mind is focused and you are not easily distracted. Are you passionate about what you do every day?

2.       Energetic: Do important tasks when your energy is at its peak. When you are calm and feeling good especially in the morning, you perform your best. Act before you run out of steam.

3.       Plan and organize: To plan and organize is to work in an orderly manner and save time. A to-do list is an essential tool. It allows you to be in control and manage your daily activities effectively. Do you prepare in advance a to-do list every day to get things done?

4.       One task at a time: Multitasking is stressful and more likely to make mistakes. The quickest way is to pay attention just to one task at a time. It is more efficient.

5.       Taking breaks: Work will be tiring and stressful if you do not stop and take breaks from time to time. Take a break to relax your mind, regain your energy and resume your work.

6.       A balanced life: A productive life is a balanced life. It is not just working long hours to get more done. You need to spend time exercising and be healthy and fit. You also need to spend time at home. Getting rested and relaxed is essential to recharge your body to start another new day freshly.

7.       Discipline: Avoid delay and start working according to your plan every day.  Getting started is difficult so it is important to build your momentum and get things done.

8.       Deadline: Adopt an urgency to get things done. Give yourself a deadline for each task. If you don’t, you will take a much longer time to finish a job.

9.       Delegate: Get your children to share household chores at home. In the office delegate some of your work. Groom your staff to take on more responsibilities. You don’t have the time to do everything yourself. Share the workload.

10.   Simplify: Avoid complications at work. Looking for ways to get things done in a quick and easy way is the way to be productive.

Work smart and get the right things done every day.

10 Reasons to Get Things Done Now

getting things done now

Consider the following situations:

  • An opportunity is knocking at your door.
  • You have just conceived a bright idea.
  • There is a marvelous plan waiting for you to be executed.

Will you do it now? Do you seize the chance or you wait for the right time to implement? There are 10 reasons to do it now:

1.      The habit of just do it: Be energetic and take the initiative and plunge into action. Prompt action cures inaction. The longer you delay the more likely you will not do it.

2.      Enthusiastic: There are benefits to do it and there is an urgency to get things done. You will do it  right away  to beat procrastination

3.      Don’t wait for the right time: There is no ideal time, change is the only constant. The main point is to get it going and adjust accordingly along the way

4.      The idea may not be good later: Situation changes and conditions are different and the idea may be good now but not suitable if you delay

5.      It’s now or never:  The most important thing in life is to show you love and appreciation now. You may not be able to express your feelings later. Perhaps the person is no longer around in this world. You will regret it profoundly.

6.      Grab the opportunity: The same golden opportunity may not present itself a second time. Make the best out of it now.

7.      Before it is forgotten: An interruption at the workplace should be handled immediately if it does not take you more than five minutes. When you think of doing it later, it could be forgotten and you are to be blamed.

8.      Don’t accumulate your work: Instead of piling up your work just do it now so that it is not overwhelming and it can be done easily and quickly.

9.      Time-sensitive: Most things carry a deadline. It is better to do it now rather than at the last minute. You never know, you will be rushing to beat the deadline and it may interfere with an important job to be done at the same time. It’s nerve-wracking

10.  Live the moment: This moment, which is precious, is within your control. The future is out of your reach. You can get something done now that is for sure but you can’t be too certain of the future.

The present moment is hard cash for you to spend the way you want it. The future is a post-dated cheque with many uncertainties. If there is something meaningful to be done, do it now. There will be no sorrowful regret later.
